This tour takes you to the very picturesque Fleurieu Peninsula south
of Adelaide. We stop for morning tea and a chance to sample wines from the region. Then travelling further South, we pass some beautiful rural landscapes on our way to Victor Harbor, a picturesque
seaside location on the Southern Ocean.
Former home of whaling fleets and now a very popular holiday destination for locals and
overseas visitors. A light lunch will be provided together with a return trip on Granite Island's well known horse drawn tram. We then return to Adelaide, enjoying the coast city views before returning
to the ship.

Itinerary
After leaving the shipping
terminal we travel along the seaside suburbs of Largs Bay, Semaphore, Grange, Henley Beach, West Beach, historic Glenelg (site of the first landing in 1836), before heading further south of Adelaide in
to the Fleurieu Peninsula and in to the McLaren Vale Wine Region, famous for its wines and Mediterranean climate.
At our first stop in the region we will enjoy a morning tea of cake/cheese
platter and tea/coffee at Blessed Cheese ideally located in the main street of McLaren Vale. The region is very well known for its wines, home to over 60 wineries and winner of many top awards in recent
times including wine maker of the year and wine of the year at the London Wine shows. We will then move on to one of the boutique wineries to sample some of these spectacular wines such as Shiraz,
Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc and Reisling. There is also an opportunity to purchase some wine & other products along the way.
We then depart McLaren Vale and head further south
driving through some prime farming land including the small rural settlement of Mt. Compass before arriving to the seaside town of Victor Harbor. A very popular coastal town with both holiday makers and
retirees due to its magnificent location, ideal climate and close proximity to Adelaide. Victor Harbor was the location of a whaling fleet in the early days of settlement and was looked upon as a
possible location for the capital city of South Australia.
Lack of sufficient deep port facilities brought a rethink before it was decided to locate the capital to its current site on the Gulf of
St.Vincent. Victor Harbor being located on Encounter Bay is also the location of the famous encounter between the English Explorer Matthew Flinders and his French counterpart Sir Nicholas Baudin. A light
lunch will be provided at Victor Harbor as well as a return ticket on the iconic horse drawn tram to Granite Island.
On returning to the bus it will be time to head straight back to Outer Harbour
terminal for boarding on to your cruise ship.
