Itinerary
After collection from your Cairns accommodation, your driver will check you in for the Kurunda boarding pass, this includes a detailed itinerary, pre-allocated preferential Kurunda
scenic railway seating,, Kuranda map and discounted entry vouchers into selected Kurunda attractions.
We start by taking a short drive to the Tjapukai Indigenous centre. Here you will be met by
your Indigenous guide who will show you through the centre, including bush food, didgeridoo demonstrations, a movie Theatre showing the history and ways of the local peoples, fire making demonstrations
and the famous Tjapukai Dance Troupe.
We then board the Sky Rail Rain Forest Cableway to travel over the forest canopy to Kurunda, high on the plateau. You will be amazed at the views of the tree
canopy as you glide silently over the rain forest from the safety of your cable car, a modern day feat of engineering.
There are 2 stations along the cable way where you can alight and enjoy a walk through the rain forest to spectacular lookouts out over the forest and to the coast and Great Barrier Reef beyond.
Upon arrival in Kuranda, you have 2 hours free time to do your own exploring. There are the Heritage Markets which operate daily as well as a good selection of restaurants and cafes offering plenty of
choices for a mid day meal, as well as many other attractions you can visit if desired.
We return to Cairns on the Kuranda Scenic Railway, take your seats and sit back and enjoy the views as the
train winds its way down the hills, along the Barron Gorge past the majestic Barron Falls.
After your full day of activities your coach with be waiting at Freshwater Station to return you to your
accommodation.
Please note that this tour is not suitable for cruise ships visiting Cairns as the duration is often longer than their scheduled time in port, so is provided for visitors on a pre
or post cruise visit to Cairns.

is required on gentle inclines and some steps.

No meals are included in this tour but there is
ample time to have lunch at one of the many restaurants in Kuranda.
